A Christian Response

Four theologians wrote and nearly 300 endorsed and published a full page advertisement in the N.Y. Times. Their preamble contains the first logic bomb. [Emphasis added.]

Muslims and Christians have not always
shaken hands in friendship; their relations have
sometimes been tense, even characterized by outright
hostility. Since Jesus Christ says, “First take the log
out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to
take the speck out of your neighbor’s eye” (Matthew
7:5), we want to begin by acknowledging that in the
past (e.g. in the Crusades) and in the present (e.g. in
excesses of the “war on terror”) many Christians
have been guilty of sinning against our Muslim
neighbors. Before we “shake your hand” in responding
to your letter, we ask forgiveness of the All-Merciful
One and of the Muslim community around the
world.

The self-appointed spokesmen for Christianity overlook the fact that the Crusades were a response to 400 years of barbaric invasions and harassment, including the abduction of pilgrims to Jerusalem. I can’t deny that there were excesses, but the Crusades were defensive, not offensive. Where is the Islamic apology for the conquest of the Levant in 638? Where is the apology for the conquest of Eastern Europe, Spain and Greece? As for excesses in the so called war on terror, I know of none. Our armed forces have made every reasonable attempt to minimize collateral damage, whereas Islam deliberately maximizes it.

Under the heading: Religious Peace-World Peace, they display incomprehension.

Though tensions, conflicts, and even wars in
which Christians and Muslims stand against each
other are not primarily religious in character, they
possess an undeniable religious dimension.
If we can
achieve religious peace between these two religious
communities, peace in the world will clearly be
easier to attain. It is therefore no exaggeration to
say, as you have in A Common Word Between Us
and You, that “the future of the world depends on
peace between Muslims and Christians.”

Which is it? Jihad is “holy fighting in Allah’s cause“. Those are not my words, they belong the translators of the Noble Quran. Click the link and scroll down to the footnote to 2:190. The ayeh which prescribes fighting Jews & Christians is 9:29. What is the ostensible strategic objective?

9:35 It is He Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islâm), to make it superior over all religions even though the Mushrikûn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) hate (it).

What is the true objective?

Bukhari Ch 61 # 2756: …It is mentioned from Ibn ‘Umar from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, “My provision has been placed under the shadow of my spear, and abasement and humility have been placed on the one who disobeys my command.

See also 8:1, 8:41, 33:26-27 and Bukhari 4.52.220.

Can that level of ignorance and illogic be surpassed?

What is common between us lies not in something
marginal nor in something merely important to
each. It lies, rather, in something absolutely central
to both: love of God and love of neighbor.
Surprisingly for many Christians, your letter considers
the dual command of love to be the foundational principle not just of the Christian faith, but of Islam
as well.

Lets see how Islam loves its neighbor.

9:29 Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

9:30 And the Jews say: ‘Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allâh, and the Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allâh. That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allâh’s Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!

If that is love, what’s hate look like? But there’s more!

We applaud when you state that “justice and
freedom of religion are a crucial part” of the love of
neighbor. When justice is lacking, neither love of
God nor love of the neighbor can be present.

Lets look into freedom of religion, Islamic style.

3:85 And whoever seeks a religion other than Islâm, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.

Sahih Bukhari Volume 9, Book 84, Number 57:

Narrated ‘Ikrima:

Some Zanadiqa (atheists) were brought to ‘Ali and he burnt them. The news of this event, reached Ibn ‘Abbas who said, “If I had been in his place, I would not have burnt them, as Allah’s Apostle forbade it, saying, ‘Do not punish anybody with Allah’s punishment (fire).’ I would have killed them according to the statement of Allah’s Apostle, ‘Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.'”

How many churches are there in Saudi Arabia? What are the regulations governing construction & repair of churches in other Islamic state? What freedom of religion!!

ur clearly delusional and in need of medication and a lot of dua’s im sure u knw what that meanz… may Allah SWT guide you in the right path becuase you are clearly confused about the message of The Qur’an. There is no other book in the world as beautiful and soul wrenching as The Qur’an. It’s a manual, it’s a way of life. You either read it properly from start till end with an open mind or u carry on being the ignorant small minded islam hating pro bush individual that you are… just like thousand others like you! I can tell you after reading all the vile and disgustingly absurd and stupid stuff that you have written about my religion makes me wanna curse u and hurt u but the only reason i do not act on that impulse is because i am a muslim… i forgive even if u do not ask for forgiveness… i be kind even if i believe deep down that a person like u truly doesnt deserve it! Islam teaches one to be a good human being! It teaches one to be the best individual possible. It teaches manners and humanity and kindness and empathy towards others. to love one another and forgive and to think and act from what your soul feels. it may be far beyond your understanding!

The Koran has neither context nor chronology. It is arranged according to length, not content. Its true meaning is discovered by comparing verses to the traditional sayings of Moe’s companions, as Ibn Kathir did in his Tafsir.

Islam teaches Muslims to be kind to other Muslims and harsh to Kuffar. One need only read Al-Tauba & Al-Anfal to come to a clear realization of this fact.

Throughout this blog I quote Islam’s canon of scripture & tradition, with links to source. Read them and curse Islam.

Allah curses Kuffar, declares unremitting war against us and commands Muslims to fight us until only Allah is worshiped and “people of the book” pay extortion. Moe declared perpetual open season on us. Sharia confirms it.

This blog contains a post with links whereby the reader can download the Koran in several languages and formats. It also has links to hadith. I urge the reader to make use of those links and read with an open mind.
